CURRICULUM VITAE

Dr John D. Vu

Dr. John D. Vu is a Northern California native who was raised in Sacramento and went to Lowell High School in San Francisco. He attended UC Davis where he majored in Biological Sciences and graduated with a departmental citation and honors. He then pursued pharmacology research at the Cardiovascular Research Institute at UCSF before going on to Pennsylvania State University for his medical degree. Dr. Vu graduated from Penn State with honors in pharmacology and cardiology. He returned to California and completed his internship and residency at University of California, Irvine Medical Center. Dr. Vu stayed on at UC Irvine and completed his fellowship in Cardiology. Before joining CCMG, Dr. Vu completed an Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellowship in Cardiac CT Angiography and Cardiac MRI at Scripps Clinic Green Hospital in La Jolla, CA. Dr. Vu was also awarded the 2006 SCAI/GE Healthcare Fellows Grant Program For Research in Angiography and Diagnostic Imaging.

He has board certification in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Nuclear Cardiology and he specializes in non-invasive cardiac imaging, including transesophageal echocardiography, stress echocardiography and nuclear perfusion imaging . He has extensive training in Cardiac CT Angiography and Cardiac MRI and has Level 2 certification in both imaging modalities.
